ACCESIBILITY statement

At Metropolitain, we are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all our guests. We strive to ensure that everyone, regardless of ability, can enjoy their experience with us. Accessibility is a priority, and we continuously work to improve our facilities and services to meet the needs of all individuals. Below, you’ll find detailed information about the accessibility features of our location.

  • There are accessible parking spots in the Indigo parking lot directly below our building. Entrance is on George St. and Sussex. Elevators are available to transport guests from the underground parking lot to the ground floor. Please note that there is a heavy door to access the elevator. For easier access, we recommend dropping off guests with mobility challenges at the ground level, at the corner of George Street and Sussex Drive.

Please navigate with caution, as city streets in the area may have uneven surfaces, including holes or other irregularities. Alternatively, a quick drop-off can be made directly in front of our patio on Sussex Drive, just before Rideau Street.

During the winter months, our patio floor is heated, providing a safer and more accessible surface for navigation.

  • Our location is situated at ground floor level, and we are proud to offer an accessible entrance with no steps. The doors are equipped with push-button operators to allow for automatic opening, ensuring ease of entry for all guests.

  • Inside our establishment, we have designed our space to accommodate a variety of mobility needs. Our hallways are wide, and the spacing between tables is approximately 60 inches, allowing for easy navigation with wheelchairs, walkers, strollers, or other mobility devices. If you require additional space or specific accommodations, please let us know when making your reservation, and we will do our best to meet your needs.

  • Our restrooms include accessible facilities with ambulatory spacing to accommodate guests with mobility challenges. However, please note that there are two doors to access the washrooms, and these doors are not equipped with automatic push-button operators. We are happy to provide assistance if needed—please don’t hesitate to ask a member of our team.

  • Our private event space is designed with accessibility in mind. The entire space is located on the ground level, with no steps, allowing for easy mobility and navigation. Whether you’re hosting a celebration, meeting, or gathering, we are happy to work with you to ensure the space meets the needs of all your guests.

  • Service animals are always welcome in our establishment. If you require water or any other accommodations for your service animal, please let us know.

  • While we love animals, we regret that pets are not allowed inside our establishment (with the exception of service animals) due to sanitary regulations. However, during the seasons when our patio is open, we welcome pets to join their owners in this outdoor space. We’re also happy to provide a water bowl to keep your furry friends comfortable while you enjoy your visit.

Did you know we have our very own resident ducks? Bernard and Jet have been visiting us for years, stopping by twice daily for a feeding of our in-house-made duck food. They’ve become a beloved part of our community, and we’re always excited to see them waddle in!

We are committed to continuously improving the accessibility of our space and services. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions about accessibility at Metropolitain, please don’t hesitate to contact us at info@metropolitainbrasserie.com . Your feedback is invaluable in helping us create a more inclusive environment for everyone.
